Tax Reform Bill Information

Thank you for your support of Baylor and our student-athletes. Baylor Athletics relies heavily upon the funds raised from private giving through the Baylor Bear Foundation. Currently, your giving accounts for approximately 20 percent of the revenue we depend on to offer educational, athletic and developmental opportunities for more than 530 student-athletes who are on Baylor's campus today.

Due to changes made under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, no charitable deduction is allowed for any portion of a payment to an institution of higher education in exchange for which the donor receives the right to purchase tickets or seating at an athletic event. Therefore, all payments made after December 31, 2017 to the Baylor Bear Foundation which give the donor a right to purchase athletic tickets or seating will no longer be deductible as a contribution. As always, we advise you consult with your personal tax advisor with any questions or for additional guidance.

Please know your continued support is deeply appreciated. It is paramount to our ability to invest in our student-athletes and our life-changing mission of Preparing Champions for Life.

Sincerely,

Mack B. Rhoades, IV
Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
